Final exam of a foreign language course
The second-cycle programme of study includes a foreign language course lasting 60 hours, ending with the exam at the level at least B2+. Passing the exam is required to obtain Magister degree. The principles of assessment of the course are determined by the Jagiellonian Language Centre (JCJ).
From 2023/2024, it will be possible to apply to take the exam without the obligation to attend classes, with the prior consent of the dean.
Persons who obtain the above-mentioned dean's consent are obliged to inform JCJ about the consent obtained and to enroll in the group in their field of study. This is necessary to be admitted to the final exam.
Exemption from the obligation to attend classes does not release tokens, which are used to sign up for the group and take the exam.

Certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language
Detailed rules for crediting a foreign language course on the basis of a certificate confirming the knowledge of a foreign language and a list of recognized certificates are described by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Zarządzenia nr 138 Rektora UJ z 22 grudnia 2022 roku
To complete a language course on the basis of the certificate, the student should visit the duty manager of the relevant team of language in the Jagiellonian Language Centre (timetable of language team leaders or deputy).
Examples of certificates:
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - five years from the date of the exam
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic), min. 7 points - two years from the date of the test
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): ver iBT min. 95 points (two years from the date of the test)
